Title: Cornet2 no heater, help!
Post by: binar on 11 Dec 2014, 07:02 pm
 :o

Hi all, I grabbed one of the Cornet 2 boards a while ago because I heard
they were going to be discontinued and I didn't want to miss out on this
tremendously renowned kit phono stage. I've built a Clarinet board that
I bought at the same time with Jupiter copper foils and Kiwames and it
sounds really excellent.

I completed the Cornet 2 last week and was bringing it up on a variac.
LED turned green and nothing smoked so I hooked it up to my rig. No
sound. I then noticed no filaments in the signal tubes were lit. I pulled
the plug and have been unable to return to the issue since.

I may be missing some larger issue but all I can think to do is to look
at the H+ circuit testing values for each device until I get to the socket.

Does this problem ring a bell with any of the old pros around here? Can
anyone offer any advice to a noob?

Many thanks!

Typically someone will install a 1.5k ohm instead of a 1.5 ohm in the heater circuit.

Okay, I'll take a look at those resistor values, thanks!
