Title: BD Pi and Tidal
Post by: witchdoctor on 14 Oct 2019, 04:24 am
I am looking for a device to stream tidal masters files (mqa) to a pro-ject rs2 preamp/dac. I have a PC but it is too big and I hate having to use a keyboard. Has anyone used a BD Pi for this? Any comments about either tidal hifi or masters streaming are appreciated.

I don’t think the Pi can unfold mqa flies but it will encode them in 24 bit playback.  I used the Pi with Tidal and it worked flawlessly.

Thanks, I have a DAC to do the unfolding, I just need the streamer.

MQA playback from TIDAL requires the device itself to be MQA certified, if this is a must for you then you'll need an MQA player as well.

Right now I can stream from a PC using the Tidal app and my Bluesound Node. I don't want to use a PC so it looks like I'll need another Node, thanks.
