Audio "Re" Meet October 17, 2015
« on: 26 Aug 2015, 03:31 am »
Yeah..... the end of July was a bad time to try and host a meet.  So, with LSAF so far away, I've decided to open my doors again with hopes of a better turnout.

October 17, 2015
Denton, TX area
2:00 PM til the party ends
BYOB
BYOG (bring your own gear)

July brought out some new faces, but we only had a handful of guys show up.  This was a bit of a shock as the last meet I had garnered over 30 guys.  So far, I've already got commitments as far away as Houston, Austin, and Kansas.  Come and join us for some fun before the holiday season hits.

I'll have the following gear:

Usher CP-6311
Usher Mini X
Usher T-515 (hopefully)
Rosso Fiorentino Elba
Polk SDA SRS 3.1tl
Parasound Halo Integrated
ifi Stereo 50
Dayens Menuetto
Dayens Ampino
Marantz UD-5007
Marantz SA-14s1

Marvin, you're a given.

Art, as it gets closer I'll give you a shout to nail some gear down.

Duke, it will be good to finally meet (or remeet) you.  I'm sure we have crossed paths before.

I know we have some other North Texans on here that would enjoy themselves.  Speak up guys!

So, for those that missed, here is what you lost out on:

Four different setups, with a total of 8 pairs of speakers and a plethora of electronics and cabling to view.

Thank you Skip for a wonderful afternoon/evening!

^^How did I miss those^^?  What are they??

At least I didn't miss Skip's new Rosso Fiorentino Elbas (I think he's the first dealer in the US with a pair):

What sticks with me the most is how dramatically different they sounded from one recording to the next (including the size of the soundscape)... which of course means, the speaker was totally getting out of the way and letting you hear the recording without superimposing a signature on top.  That's the sort of thing you don't normally get until you go well north of their 4.5 grand/pair price (and I was expecting them to cost quite a bit more based on their performance).   So I'm thinking, if Rosso Fiorentino can do that at this price, what can they do with more??

Thanks for the kind words on the Rosso's Duke.  I am ecstatic to be a dealer for them and cannot wait for LSAF next year to show them off.  I expect big, big results once the cat is out of the bag.  I've been avoiding tooting their horn, but I really believe they are damn near unbeatable at their price, especially considering that they are assembled by hand in Italy.

The big boys pictured were Reaction Audio that a family friend bought and had to try out.  He is newer to the audio scene and I'm trying to guide him some.

Duke!! Sean here.

So you made it to Skip's event huh? He's a jackass, but I'd imagine he's a fun jackass to kick it with.  As for the Rosso's...   I have their mid-line speaker called the Volterra at the abode.  I'll be posting up a review soon.  All I'll say is, they are an endgame piece.

Hi Sean,

Wow small world... I'm definitely interested in what you have to say about the Volterras.
