Just picked up a STR-V555ES Sony ES receiver from a local goodwill for $69 buck-a-roos (no remote though!). Thought it was a steal until I brought it home and I didn't get any output.
Checked the front panel speaker selector (A+B, None, A, B) and tried plugging into the B jacks. Still no sound until I fidgeted the knob and pushed it to the right and I heard a "click" and the output came alive. I let go of the knob releasing pressure and it "clicked" off.
Is this simply dirty knob or is it something worse? I'm debating how to fix. Sony quoted $219 flat fee but that's ridiculously high especially when I've seen this puppy go on ebay for $100.
Thoughts? Thanks in advance!
