Announcing the brand new Synergy 200 basic power amplifier with all the the musicality of our higher powered Synergy solid state amplifiers.
Same audio circuit design, same multiple regulated power supplies with regulated output transistors too, but at a lower price than ever before
100 watts per channel, 17 x 3.5 x 12, 30 pounds, and only $999.
Astonishingly musical, rugged, fault tolerant, fine for 4 ohm loads. A great match for our T10RB vacuum tube preamp.
Available right now.

I applaud AVA for being one of the few manufacturers supporting and developing affordable products like this. Seeing this though, I wonder if it spells bad news for the venerable ST-120 rebuild, much as the RB preamp was apparently the last nail in the coffin of the PAS3?
I wonder if this amp would be a good choice for Maggies being driven at moderate levels in a moderate size room?

Sure, the S200 will work just fine in the conditions you describe.

Any pictures of the rear of the chassis ?
Thank you

Hi Frank,
Congratulations on the new amplifier and I hope you sell a bundle.
Cheers Rod

Frank, what is the power at 4 ohms?
-
It will make double power into 4 ohms but sustained full blast sound into 4 ohms is best reserved for our Synergy 300 amp which has much more heat sink cooling capability.
Nobody has ever been able to damage one of our compact chassis amps but the S200 certainly is not the choice for 2 ohm rated Apogee electrostats.

Hello,
The ST-120 Insight+ upgrade is still available, and will likely be for some time.
