Room and speaker measurement help
« on: 31 Aug 2017, 05:00 pm »
Would anyone be willing to Team View into my computer to show me how to  take measurements of my room.

I have a microphone, laptop and cabling and could download software as needed.

I once tried REW and spent days trying to get a measurement. I just don't want to go through that frustration again and come up empty handed.

So, I was hoping someone would be willing to spend a few minutes showing me how to set up and take some basic measurements.

Thanks,

Doug

The REW help pages are reasonably comprehensive -  you get them when you download the software. They walk you through connections, calibrating, measuring and interpreting those measurements. The key is patience!

There are also two forums that may have answers if you get problems. The original one:

There are also guides to REW At GIK Acoustics and RealTraps:

Did you purchase a preamp to connect the mic and soundcard to the laptop? I bought the same one they show in their setup instructions and it saved me a bunch of hassles.

I just have the microphone - Berhinger. Can you point me to what your talking about? It's been a while but I read where you could use the mic input in the computer?  I think thats what I did.

yes... did all that. The problem is- the pages they show in their tutorials don't look anything like any of the pages I was looking at. Maybe different versions/releases?? I dunno. I just don't want to spend hours trying to figure it out when someone could show me how to do it in a few minutes. Hopefully I can get someone to help.
