10 Outlet 15 A, w/EMI/RFI Filter Brick
« on: 19 Feb 2014, 04:50 pm »
I stumbled upon a website that sells many different electronics items. One such item is a SurgeX 10 outlet 15 amp brick with EMI/RFI filtering. I do not know enough to compare the unit I found against something like the MajikBUSS. I'm wondering if anyone here has an opinion on the following specs and how they might compare to the PI Audio MajikBUSS (or even the MiniBUSS).

Link to the item in question:

The Busses do not protect against surge's or spikes, Surgex is one of the best at surge protection but cant match the conditioning of the Buss. So your not comparing apples to apples, Buss is full on conditioning only with no surge protection. Whats most important to you?

Hello, Nick77.

Thanks for the input.

Frankly, I hadn't realized the PIAudio BUSS products were conditioning only. The website isn't exactly overflowing with information, and I haven't spent much time on the PIaudio circle either.

As for what is most important to me: Well, I'm not entirely certain yet. I've never tried out a product like what PIaudio sells, so I honestly don't know how its being added to my system would impact my sound. I'm still learning.

I guess my next step is to try one out, huh?

I use the Brick Wall line filter for the last 13 years never looked at anything else after going through a bunch when all these were popular. I had a couple different Power Wedges and others.
That SurgeX looks very similar to the Brick Wall with 10 outlets instead of 8.

I chatted with PI Audio Dave and decided to buy one his UberBUSS with the upgraded cyoed outlets. I ought to have it in about ten days.

I've got a Surgex and a Brick Wall - same circuitry.  One licenses from the other.  Can't imagine better surge protection.
