SP Tech at RMAF 2008
« on: 4 Oct 2008, 01:15 am »
I'm not sure that everyone is aware but.......
SP Tech (including our illustrious leader, Bob Smith) will be at RMAF this year!!     :banana piano:

Where:  Marriott Room 1004 (one of two TweekGeek rooms)
What:   SP Tech Revelation MR-1 Mk III's (with custom internal crossovers)
  :thumb: :thumb:
SP Tech Minis (cherry w/ cherry stands!)  :thumb: :thumb:

Supporting equipment:  Modded Squeezebox and/or Duet front ends
                                Modwright LS 36.5 preamp
Spectron Musician III Mark 2 monoblock amplifiers
Synergistic Research cabling and other new product surprises !!   :D
Sistrum SP101 shelves as amplifier and speaker stands (assuming shipment arrives in time )

Please come by and listen to these incredible speakers, driven by incredible electronics.  Come meet Mike Garner (TweekGeek), Bob Smith (mad scientist genius SP Tech founder), me (go-fer and audiophile who can hopefully answer a few questions cuz I own all the same stuff), Simon (Spectron guru extraordinaire) and many friends and acquaintances.  A good time will be heard by all.

Will do.   :)

I'm anxious to hear the Minis myself, and also looking forward to hearing what the Sistrums will do for the Revs.  Robert (Star Sound) is pulling his hair out cuz he's had to deal with some production slowdowns and prides himself on customer service.  He's doing all he can to ship them to the hotel in time for setup.  Rod and I each bought a set and will use them at the show for the Revs and Spectrons, then take them home for our own Revs.

Better "tape" up the windows.....

I still remember at Steve Chang's house....a few years ago....
things can really rattle when the Revelation's "get going"......

See you there....

Thanks Ted for getting the news out!!!

As we speak, Bob is doing his MAD SCIENTIST job at a master creation of what will be
his Ultimate internal crossovers with
the new Clarity MR caps, renowned new Mundorf Supreme Resistors,

UP-OCC Internal Silver and Copper wiring,, WBT UP Silver and Copper Nextgen terminals
( thanks Chris of VH Audio.)

and other proprietary updates/upgrades.

Thanks to Robert at Starsound as he works through his inland Hurricane challenges for our Max Sound.

These Revelation's upgrade to Mk III have been waiting in the wings while Bob has worked to meet the year's  Minis and other's orders.

All of this has been a long time coming and Mike is the Man with the Room,
(helping in many other ways);
I have got to meet Simon, the musical design mind behind the Best Spectrons ever.
ModWright and New Cabling (some David Elrod too)

Quite a number of premiers in this room together for the first time, the Planets have aligned
;do I see 6 moons too?

I will be lucky this year at RMAF and have my 16 year old son Trevor watching, listening and learning,
 the NextGen of audio too.

Look to see you all there and renew friendships and make new ones too.

A tribute to Bob and Mike
and the special audio lovers who helped me get the Rev's last year, Scott and Ellen Black.

Always Best Sound,
Rod  just a  guy from New Mexico.

You won't be disappointed by using Sistrum Stands for your SP Tech's. Jim/DoubleUgly turned me onto them and I'm very pleased from using the SP004 Stands on my Lorelei's. :thumb:

Cheers,

Ted B., I just checked the RMAF website and according to them Tweek Geek will be in the Marriot, in room 9007, unless their site has the wrong info.  You may want to check with them.  Anyway, SP Tech will have the "mighty Revelations" as well as a pair of "mighty Minis" with matching custom cherry stands.( the very ones I posted the pictures of when I first introduced the stands.  As for those of you wondering what happened with the custom mini stands,  I had some major setbacks with the space I was using to build them in. Fortunately, I have just about finished relocating to............you guessed it..............the home of SP TECHNOLOGY!!!!!! :thumb:  I am gearing up to do some major production butt kickin :whip: at SP Tech  so get ready to do some dancing  :banana piano:

Tim, being that this is the SP Tech Circle I wasn't going to advertise the other TweekGeek room per se.  Sorry for the confusion.  Mike's other room, 9007, has no SP Tech but does have some very nice stuff, and is being assisted by the other Mike (MGalusha), a MUCH more knowledgeable go-fer than me.... :D...but not about SP Tech and Modwright.  :thumb:

I modified the OP.

That's for sure. :)

I'm really looking forward to hearing the big Rev's with the super bybee'd Spectrons. Mike brought those amps over this week and there were sounding very good.

I'll be assisting Mike in the Modwright 36.5/Spectron monoblock/Sp Tech Revelation w/ SR Tesla cables room 1004 (my exact setup at home btw) during RMAF and will be bringing a bunch of FLAC files, so if anyone has a specific disc they want to hear maybe I have it or can find it and rip it in the meantime; no guarantees but what the heck doesn't hurt to ask.   Not sure about actual disc spinning machines.

Hi Ted- I made up a couple of discs with various songs on them to bring to RMAF 2008. I'd love to hear a few of them in the SP Tech room so- if you could have a few of these ripped or already have some of them stored as FLAC files that would be awesome.  I have one more disc to go, but I figured the earlier the better........Thanks!  :thumb:

Edited my list to include Mike's picks.  Let's get Frank to the finish line!!!!!
