Yep, pretty awesome huh.  :thumb: Why ruin a good thing by plugging it back into the grid?

Dude, it's more then awesome.     I've had sooo many expensive pre's...

I feel guilty for what it costs. :o

The only reason I did not do a HT bypass is because on most systems there would not be enough volume for movies, (NO GAIN) But for music it is fine for most systems. Best of all it is OFF THE GRID! :thumb:

The reason I asked which caps they were is b/c I can't let you buy them.  I will pay for them (~$36) as long as you're willing to install them when I ship the unit back.  When?  Who knows....
I want to enjoy it.   :green:   :thumb:

You are correct, it used to say bypassed with platinums. Since production started there have been no units shipped with bypass caps. And the website was changed only a week or so ago to say supplied with sonicaps, upgrades are available. I want to keep the costs low for everyone so I decided to not use the bypass caps as standard and let customers add whatever they desired if anything at all. For those who have received their buffer and would like to have the caps because when you ordered it , you read it would have them , I will be happy to send each of you a pair of platinums. That's the kind of guy I am, I want everyone with my gear to be happy and satisfied. :D
I know 3 guys who may want the caps, you let me know.
Gary

Thank you sir.

Dave if this link is to your audiogon ad then congratulations!!!.....it shows SOLD.  If it isn't sold and this is your link....I think I might know why you are not getting any interest.  Have you made any progress on your speaker build?

Good luck on selling your Cary
Shane
Oh, no.  All of that stuff sold and I'm listening to Dodd Audio gear every night.

I don't know what Happened, but my thread alert wasn't working and I just now saw your post.

I haven't made any headway on the speakers due to some family issues and another project that I'm working on right now, but I am a patient man.  I've got good tunes and life is good.  Audio will get much better here pretty quickly.

Like I said to you a while back. Gary is the smartest guy in the room when it comes to tubes and less is more.  I think I said that, maybe not ... If I didn't, I should have.

My gear sounds so good and it isn't anywhere close to where it is going to be in a few weeks, God willing.  I'm just about set to get all of this stuff put together and I am struggling to do the work prioritization that I have to do.  I'm a 61 year old kid in a candy store and having a hard time making the final decisions on the DAC/player rig.......

This, to me, is what audio is all about.  Good fun.

Yeah, Gary, I'll take a pair of bypasses.  I'll be happy to pay for them, too.

Dave

Back to buffer talk.

I've got a pair of Siemens 1960's west germ to try.  Looking forward to that.  I'm going to try the Orange Labels as well.

I didn't realize it had a remote volume and three inputs.  Guess your one step ahead of me.

Gary

What's the min / max amp impedance you would say the buffer is best with?  What's the "magic"???

Oh.  My wife LOVES the look / feel of the remote.  She says she really likes the positive button feel.  Go figure.

I would say less than 10K no problem and greater than 100K no problem.
That should cover just about anything out there.

This piece is just fantastic.  I can't recommend it enough.  Gary, I think you and Danny need to figure out how to pass one of these guys around so others that might be leary can try it.  I know they will be shocked as much I was (and still am).

If you ever wondered how big 15 watts per channel can sound, you should hear the little stereo amp.  It just rocks!

Gary, you is da man!  Thanks, again.
