Oh whoops, should have read closer.
I assume the FST will be on top of the 3 neos, w/ the 6.5s underneath?

Doesn't sound like it will work ideally as a horizontally placed center. I'll have to remeasure to see if I place the TV high enough to accomodate a 48" speaker in front.

Sounds like this will be the ideal front speakers for a lot of folks around here. Can't wait to hear them at CES!

Good assumption on the Verticle "C" model

Of course a horizontal "C" model could have a whole different configuration of those drivers.

Larry, if I'm reading things right, Brian just got the prototype cabinets today, so he probably has his elves busy putting things together right now.  In other words, it doesn't seem like there is an actual RM30 to listen to yet.  And if last year's announcement about the RM/X is any indication, the little nuggets we got today may amount to a tease that lasts through Christmas.  Sometimes I think Big B likes to torture us...  After all, a man whose business is our hobby needs a hobby of his own, right?

Larry,

I bought it, I'm not reviewing it formally ;)

Given that the person supervising the install (me) is a mechanical moron, there's been a minor hitch in the process.

Not to worry though my favorite handyman (why do I feel like I bought his new car  ) will be by tomorrow to help remount so that one of the wallboard anchors isn't coming loose ;)

I expect it will be a few weeks while I wait on my PJ before I get really serious in comparing screen up vs. screen down acoustics.

Cheers,

John,

If you are near Chicago I will personally help with the install and bring you a 7200 infocus , new, still in the box to use for your evaluation compared to whatever pj you are getting.

I do want to know your impressions either way(up or down or both).

Nice to see you over here and not just at AVS.

Do I smell a Widescreen review with VMPS in the future??????????

Thanks,

Larry

Larry,

I participate in most of the forums :D

I'm in St. Louis, and the screen is solidly attached, thanks.  I used to be right next door in Elgin.

I've heard the RM40s once, and they were awfully good.  They're also a lot larger than ideal for my main multi-channel/theater room, not to mention back breaking heavy.

Given that I cross over no lower than 65Hz I don't need that much LF from the speakers.  I'm seriously considering the RM-2s or the RM-30s (C) option for replacements.

As far as WSR reviewing the speakers, I don't know at this point in time, the interest is strictly personal at the moment  :)

John,

I thought you were close...I forgot you moved.

"As far as WSR reviewing the speakers, I don't know at this point in time, the interest is strictly personal at the moment ."

I figured it was for personal use...but could not resist to ask!!!

Now get back to reviewing that screen.

See you at CES.

Elgin?  I used to play a lot of tennis out there back in high school.  I lived in Bloomingdale for the better part of my youth, and my parents still live there now.  I hope moving to St Louis hasn't made you a Cards fan John :nono:
