BTW folks, Jim's V3's made their way into my HT and the clarity of sound is something I have never experienced.  Even in phantom mode w/o a center the imaging is incredible.

Next up is to try a Salk center channel with similar voicing.

I never dragged the V3's into the 2 channel room.  They have scary imaging, are very efficient, and just are so clean.  I am leaning toward these in my HT.  You should hear the center image w/o a center channel speaker in surround modes!

Rack is plywood with SST style Formica and solid Black Walnut shelves from northern Michigan.  The shelves cost me more than the rest of it including those funky wheels I bought.  Took me a couple of weeks with nights and weekends to fabricate.

Good to hear about the V3s.  I've ordered mine and am waiting for the veneer pics so that I can pick the finish of mine.  Once I get them, I'll post on here too.

That's a very conservative rating.  Commercial sensitivity ratings generally are made at 1 kHz, were most speaker systems have a baffle step peak or a cone-edge resonance. The Visaton is actually down a little at 1 K, so the effective sensitivity, in comparison to other commercial speakers, may be more like 88 dB.  It's considerably more sensitive than the HT3, which sacrifices some sensitivity for the outstanding bass reach and clarity of the TC1 woofer.
