Has anyone used the ACI high pass filters in an audiophile system?

Yes, though I suppose that depends on what you mean by "audiophile system" - I've used them in a Theta/Benchmark/Bryston system and some variations on that.  Small loss of level, but otherwise completely transparent as far as I can tell.

i've used them in several diferent setups. They do a great job of taking some of the strain off the main speakers while doing no harm other than a bit of level loss as Rich mentioned.

By level loss, do yo also mean a loss of dynamics or can I just turn the preamp up to compensate?

Just turn the pre up a little - no loss of dynamics  that I can hear.

Can these be custom made with 12db/octave filters?
Is it advisable to insert these between the source and integrated amp?
Thanks

I would think that normally they'd go between preamp and amp. If you put it between the source and integrated amp you'd lose all your bass!

I used them in the following system several years ago

ACI Jaguar / Titans
Audio Valve Challengers Amps
Kora Eclipse Preamp
Metronome CPD

I noticed no loss of dynamics. They did their job without hurting the sound
