Heavy metal artists of the 80s deliberately copied and studied techniques of baroque composers like Vivaldi and Bach and it's well documented in old heavy metal magazine articles.  I think it's written (academically) about in this book: http://www.geocities.com/athens/academy/6422/rev0369.html

I think it's in that book, at any rate.

Yeah, but having the talent to "pull it off" didn't come from the books! Pretty Amazing!

Why the rebuttal?  I'm just stating that metal and the baroque have deeply intertwined roots.

Not in any way meant as a rebuttal. Sorry that it was taken so!

This link is not Vivaldi, I think Rimsky-Korsakov wrote the Flight of the Bumblebee.  Watch the first go 'round then fast forward to 4:40  and be blown away!
