after extensive experimenting with a variety of tubes i have found that a pair if telefunken ecc85's and a bendix 6016 are the best sounding tubes to fit into the tube active preamp. i have clad the power supply and the amp itself in copper foil, and fitted some sorbothane feet to both, oh and hard wired the interconnects, which are made by dnm. they are relatively cheap and sound wonderful. lastly, put the preamp before the tvc, this also sounds better in my system. unfortunately my only moan is, after several e-mails i never have received the FREE pair of interconnects promised on the website if both items are purchased.
