Piano music in the movie: The Audition
« on: 20 Apr 2010, 07:26 am »
Hi guys,

Saw this movie for the second time yesterday. For those who haven't seen it, it's a pretty heavy, disturbing psychological thriller. I rate it as one of my top-10 desert-island scary movies. As if it won't be scary enough on a desert island. There is a scene where the old man plays the piano while the "heroine" emancipates his head with piano wire. I've been trying to figure out what piece it is and whose it is. In lieu of expanding my classical music collection, I'd appreciate anyone pointing me in the right direction. I figured this would be more appropriate here than in the music circle. If not, admin, please transfer.

Thanks in advance,

adamaley

I didn't see the movie....but....I did find this on the web....

I'm pretty sure the tune that the old man in the wheelchair keeps tinkering with on the piano is the Intermezzo from Carmen by Georges Bizet. I hope that's of some help.
