Worst Movie of all time...again?
« on: 20 Jan 2006, 05:04 pm »
I was just looking at some other sites, as well as looking through some old posts in this forum, and I was wondering what is not only the worst movie you've ever seen? But what movie or movies, have made you walk ou of the theater? For me, I walked out during the first twenty minutes of THe Avengers(Sean Connery), i wanted to walk out of the second Harry Potter movie, and the worst movie I've ever seen (and by a HUGE margin) has to be Freddy Got Fingered with Tom Green. I don't see this movie on a lot of all time worst lists, but I think it's only because many people haven't seen it. This(like the Teletubbies),is one of those things that I can't imagine anyone giving the "green light" on. Please, someone tell me they are in agreeance. I would hate to live the rest of my life thinking I was the only one who thought this movie was horrible. He jacks off three different types of animals in the movie for God's sake!

I've never seen that "Freddy... " movie.  I'm usually fairly tolerant of poor movies.  Yeah, some don't live up to my hopes/expectations, but I'll sit through almost anything.  With that said I recently saw "Bewitched" on a trans-Atlantic flight.  I had heard it was bad, but believe me bad doesn't nearly cover it.  I can't imagine how uncomfortable it must have been during the big ritzy premier for that movie.  I mean its got Will Farrel (sp?) and Nicole Kidman in it.  I'm sure it was a whole big shin-dig.  I'll bet everyone just wanted to get out of there w/o anyone asking them anything.  There wasn't ANYTHING redeeming about the movie.

Wasn't ANYTHING? Yes, it was crap. But Nicole was looking damn fine. I'd say that's at least something.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not going to tell anyone to run out and see it just for that reason. Because even though she was great to look at, it's not a good enough reason to watch it as it doesn't outweigh sitting through the movie.

If you want real crap, try the ONLY movie I've ever walked out of. Benigni's Pinocchio. That movie was absolutely terrible. I walked into the theater about a minute after it'd started. I'd not even made it half way to a seat before I knew I was going to have to leave.

Thought I'd try to sit it out thinking it couldn't get worse. It got worse and I still thought it won't get worse than that. But it kept getting worse. After 15 or 20 minutes I left.

THe next worst movie on my list would be House Of The Dead. I'm not sure why I actually sat through that. But oh was it painful to do. And they've actually made a sequel to that turd... :shake:

Then I think the new King Kong movie has to be the worst movie of all time.  Maybe I'm just still bitter that I wasted 3 hours sitting there...

I would have walked out of "Speed" with Keanu but my friend was entranced.

Did they really stretch a single bus ride into a feature-length film?  Did they really JUMP the freakin' thing?  Sheesh.

I thought King Kong was very entertaining and fun to watch when they were on the island (tropical one, not manhattan). As soon as they came back to the city, you might as well have got up and left, since this is pretty much where the story takes a dive.

It keeps coming back to "Bolero" (w/Bo Derek) for me.  I walked out with 20 minutes to go...yeah yeah, the last 10 minutes are when all the sex scenes with Bo happen, but to get there you have to watch George Kennedy in a soft-core porn scene.  It just wasn't worth it... :o

Worst movie I would have walked out on had I seen it in a theater was "The Next Best Thing" with Madonna (saw it on HBO).  My wife and I refer to this as "the train wreck movie" (there was no train in the movie).  To use it in a sentence, we say "hey, that movie was bad...not as bad as the train wreck movie, but still pretty bad"... :bomb:

Remeber that Bo Derek Tarzan movie? That was a major stinker. How they were able to corral Richard Harris to appear in that I'll never know.

The absolute worst movie I've ever seen is "TipToes".

My wife loves matthew mcconaughey so when she saw him on the cover of this "Sundance Film Festival" movie she picked it up.  "TipToes"...well it sounded kind of interesting...Kate Beckinsale...Gary Oldman...Patricia Arquette...well this can't be all that bad......no it's worse than bad...it's WRETCHED!!

If you are a masochist then go rent this flick.

What's funny is that matthew mcconaughey also starred in Sahara which was not as bad as TipToes but still ranks as one of the worst movies I've ever watched.

Easily, the worst film i have seen is Manos the Hands of Fate. It's the only movie i've watched that was so bad i've regreted watching it. It wasn't even bad funny (like movies by ed wood). It was just plain bad.

I walked out of 'Do the Right Thing' when they killed Radio Ralph.  I was so tired of hearing how hot it was I couldn't take it anymore.  That was the worst-written crap I'd ever seen at that point.

When Grease 2 came out, I knew it was a disaster and have mostly avoided it but from what little I've seen, it's worse than bad porn. (acting and writing)

There's more bad than good in movies/video.  I think in audio it's closer to 50/50 bad to good.... but you have to look hard for the good 50. ;)

Amen, brother!

Whenever I tell anyone that "Speed" was amongst the worst movies ever made, I usually get weird looks, as if to say "Were you watching the same movie as I?"

But I'd worked out how bad it was LOOOONNNGGGG before the bus even appeared.  I had an inkling within the first minute or two, but when Keanu whipped out his "Pop Quiz", it was beyond any doubt as far as I was concerned.

Actually, I thought that things got a lot better during the bus ride.  I could distract myself from Keanu by gazing at Sandra Bullock's legs.

"Speed" was very, very bad.  But it didn't plumb the depths of total badness that "Highlander II:  The Quickening" plumbed.  I think that the only positive thing one could say about that movie was that neither Freddy nor Christopher Lambert jacked off any animals during this film.

As for "Manos: Hands of Fate", it was a work of art.  To appreciate just how good it was, you had to see it in the context for which it was most assuredly designed:  Mystery Science Theater 2000.

My top, er, bottom ten shit movies would have to have eleven films.  This is because the worst is so unassailably bad that it's really unfair to even compare it to the other bad films- competition is not possible.  While shitty films come and shitty films go, this, the absolute shittiest film ever made will remain an unchallengable boil on the anus of cinema for all of time.

What is this nauseating shit-blister of a movie?  Natural Born Killers.

Worst.  Movie.  Ever.

Worst.  Movie.  Possible.

Have you seen Jackie Brown?  I think that maybe Quentin's worst, although his least violent.
