I'm Feeling lucky
Used Honduran Mahogany solid wood baffle and veneer sides, top, rear and bottom.
Notice Roman columns: 20" tall. Wife's idea, turned out well for less than $50 for the pair. Filled with sand. Primed not yet painted.
Used paper-backed Honduran Mahogany veneer. I recommend using the thicker 2-ply for next time. Should have listened to you Dave. Ran out of time to get them done for Christmas.
Semi-gloss finish, I used Daly's ProFin Gloss, 5 coats, very quick drying oil finish. Easy for a beginner. Could do better next time.
No cup for speaker binding posts. Still need to tap them in flushed.
Woofers are sure preatty to look at ... too much light though.
Looks like a water stain below the woofer. It is not. There is a small gouge that you cannot see in this picture from a mishap carrying it out of my car... I cried. DarrenT knows how to fix it.
Rear shot. Using 12 gauge zip cord to connect woofer to tweeter speaker posts.
