By the way, I always (Well 99.99999% of the time) eat toasted bread,
7 whole grains stone grinded.
Not every day, that's what make the slice of bread so goooooood....  :thumb:

Fasting for three days can regenerate entire immune system, study finds

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2016/03/12/fasting-for-three-days-can-regenerate-entire-immune-system-study/

The problem is (At least for me) that I am still working, I have things to do and in addition,
I am 68 years old, in (Relative) good health, but still, three days without eating and only drinking water,
woooooo I don't go for that. Maybe one day a week is O.K.
Regardless of all the benefits for fasting, (Reboot your immune system)
I still think that's not for me, maybe for others with some health problem.
Anyway, to each his way to look at it and do what they want.

The Ketogenic diet is basically the theory behind the Atkin's Diet.  Low carb, high fat and protein which sends you into ketosis.  The problem with a life long ketogenic diet is that it will cause heart disease in the long run as the kids that have epilepsy that is controlled by the ketogenic diet are at much higher risk.

Guy, I am a physician, be careful with drinking too much water while fasting.  You can develop water intoxication which is too much free water that causes hyponatremia (low sodium) due to dilution, which can cause dizziness, weakness, confusion and ultimately seizures and potential death.  I am an Emergency Medicine specialist and have seen this in infants and adults.

Hi Greyhound,
when I said that I drank lots of water during my 24 hours fasting day,
I don't think I drank too much, maybe 2 liters over 24 hours.
For the sodium (Salt) when I arrived on planet Vietnam more than 20 years ago,
I was affraid of salting my food, because I thought that it would give me high blood pressure,
but I started to have daily cramps and after asking the doctor about my (Mainly) morning legs cramps
he told me that I should put some salt in what I eat, I didn't salt anything, zero.
After a blood test the doctor confirmed that my body sodium was too low (Sorry, don't remember the figure)
but as soon as I started to salt everything came back to normal.
When you sweat a lot like I do everyday
(Don't forget, planet Vietnam is 30C+ almost all year's round)
you evaporate lot of water, therefore you loose sodium, which as to be replace.
Every three months I get a blood test for sugar, iron and sodium and sodium is normal.
Thanks for your advice.

After one year away from my Vietnamese family in law,
(They missed me more than I miss them  )
when I came back my niece wanted to greet me with a small gift,
sooooo she gave me a bottle of apple cider,
because she knows that I love apple juice and apple cider.
Unfortunately, she did not read the label on the bottle
and gave me this bottle.
(See picture below)
Not the kind of gilf you give to a diabetic type 2
plussssss I never drink alchool and that bottle got 5%.
Humm mmmm  :nono: :duh:
Well, I said thank you and the bottle will stay forever in storage.
Too bad.
