I'm sure the time willdrag byjust fly.
Just be sure to stay away from the bathroom :hyper:. I've heard horror stories how FedEx drivers rang the doorbell once and drove away before the poor guy could zip it back up.
And congrats on your new speakers :wine:!
Turn up the bass and let it knock you to the ground! YEEEEES!
OITP,
great news! BTW, do you still own ST-RT? Anyway, it would be a nice comparison of the two. And, yeah, do not forget to emphasise how important the AVA electronics is for obtaining the best sound with the HT2-TL :D
As this scenario is foreseeable, drastic measures are necessary, and I think that I will ask my mother-in-law to come over tomorrow night to help with dinner, play with the kids, etc., while I tend to my HT2-TL. If she appears ambivalent, I'll tell her that my back is starting to feel sore, which will eliminate any ambivalence that she might have had, since a son-in-law with automotive and plumbing and electrical skills is indispensable. That is my plan.

The "bad back" story may look a little suspicious when she sees you lugging around extremely heavy and very large speakers and then flipping them all around to install the plinth & spikes. Or did you think she wouldn't notice?
I don't know if it's been mentioned already but what veneer did you chose for your HT2-TL? I saw the dark walnut pair that Jim highlited in a prior thread but that's it. Thanks. :D
Cheers,
Robin
OITP,
So what are you going to put on the front end of your 12 year daughter's newly inherited Song Towers? :dunno:
Have fun,
Jerry
Paldao HT-3,,, sweet veneer indeed.

Couldn't find any samples of pau dao.
Cheers,
Robin
Hope you'll have a camera handy for "hopefully" tomorrow. :thumb:

Robin:
Pal dao is also know as pau ferro. (Sorry, misspelled the veneer.)
Here are Nuance's ST RT:

Oops, I meant turn ON the bass. You won't need to turn it up! :)Turn up the bass and let it knock you to the ground! YEEEEES!
There aren't any tone controls on my preamp.
No, no sleep for me, but not because of the speakers.

Here is a better picture to depict more of what the Pau Ferro Rosewood will look like in person:

Today is the day, oneinthepipe! Oh yeah! :thumb:

Just being nosy... why no sleep OITP?
Today's the day :banana piano:
I didn't go to work today because my two younger kids have fevers and couldn't go to school (and I am not feeling too well, either).
Whoa Hoa!
I didn't go to work today because my two younger kids have fevers and couldn't go to school (and I am not feeling too well, either). A few minutes ago, the FedEx truck pulled into the driveway, and the driver helped me carry the speakers into my listening room. If someone wasn't home, he would have left the speakers in the driveway in the rain.
I am going to start unpacking the speakers now.
In the spirit of TJHUB's thread, I also took a photo of the FedEx truck.
It is a somewhat better kept secret :shh: that Jim also provides a certified (ahem) doctor's note attesting to the fact that you were too sick to go to work on the very same day that your speakers were delivered.
They certainly are. I called them the obtuse SongTower's. :)
My middle daughter is pretty astute, and she remarked that Jim made the speakers wider. I think that she was referring to depth, because the HT2-TL are noticeably deeper than the ST.
Way to go OITP! Can't wait for pictures. Will you also bi-wire these?

Yes sir, hand rubbed. I love how it turned out. :)I agree Nuance, gorgeous is most fitting! :thumb:
I've seen the standard "matte finish" with the Pau Ferro veneer as well, and it looks just as good. That veneer is just gorgeous IMO.
On a serious note, they look great, congrats on a great speaker purchase, now if I ever get to hear Terry's someday
Good evening guys,
Brandon
Obviously, I lack any photography skills, but I will try to enlist my wife's help later.
Nevertheless, here are some photos.
Here is the FedEx truck in the driveway. As you can see, there is light rain. My silver Jag X-Type is parked in front. My lawn needs a lot of help, but we don't use chemical fertilizer or pesticides because the kids play on the lawn.

Here, the FedEx driver is preparing to leave my speakers in the middle of the driveway in the rain. Adult Signature Required? I must have missed that. Luckily, I came out before he could unload the other speaker and take off.

This is the left speaker, right side, taken at night indoors with flash.

This is the front of the right speaker. The photos do not do justice to the beautiful finish.

I went another route and had my Mother in Law wait for and receive them. She was very patient during the 9 day hold up in customs.
Great looking speakers, OITP! Any chance you can take some clearer pictures?
