Title: Piccolo2 PCB photo -dead channel
Post by: styliaddict on 14 Nov 2014, 03:23 am
I forgot to take a picture of the PCB before building. I am chasing the issue which has left the left channel dead. No sound at all. While I seem to have continuity & power throughout, I  cannot find a bad solder joint. The schematic refers to resistor & cap numbers and mine are obscured.

I note on the left channel I can measure a film cap at 114 nf while the right is 1.3nf. You cant measure capacitors while soldered in but this seems to indicate the signal is going to ground somewhere in this zone.

One possible explanation would be a 221 ohm resistor was used in the 221k spot.

Easy but embarrassing fix once located. Very quiet step up, nice detail & clarity.
