Title: USB/Toslink converter question
Post by: Whitestix on 14 Oct 2017, 07:04 pm
I am keen to try the USB Regen device from Uptone Audio in my system, but the CIA DAC I have only accepts Toslink and Coax inputs.  Is there a USB/Toslink device that will make the conversion so that I can use the USB Regen? I am perplexed why the CIA DAC doesn't have a USB input.  Thanks for any suggestions.

I assume you have VDA•2?
This is a great DAC but was designed over 10 years ago before USB audio was common.
We later designed Transient MKII, a very high performance USB to s/pdif converter with built-in DAC/volume control.

The best of both is using Transient to convert USB to s/pdif, then coaxial into VDA•2.
