Yanny vs Laurel

Anybody heard this yet?

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/yanny-vs-laurel-what-do-you-hear/

This absolutely shows the difference in what you are hearing the comparison on.

I was flipping through and first caught this on NFL Network through my main HT system and their (NFLN) mix. Clearly Yanny, but easy to hear Laurel as well.

Went on line and listened to several feeds (CBS, Popular Science, and a couple of others). Bose Headphones and Beats Audio on the Computer as the Audio player. All of them were clearly Laurel and just about impossible to hear Yanny at all. Guessing it's the Bose Noise Canceling headphones - "No highs, no lows, must be Bose"

I've always felt that people hear things differently and thus a large part of why different people prefer different systems. I think this one is entirely dependent on what you are listening to the Audio Clip on and how it is EQ'ed.

Interesting though.

Heard this on the news coming in this morning.

I don't understand why anyone cares though

EDIT
FWIW, just listened at work through cheap PC speakers, and heard Yanny.
In the car this morning, they played it twice, I don't remember the difference, but first time was Laurel and 2nd time was Yanny.

I do find it interesting. Upon first listen on my super cheap very crappy work desktop speakers, I clearly heard Yanny. I put in a pair of earbuds and clearly heard Laurel. All subsequent times after that, I heard Laurel, regardless of whether it was through the speakers or the ear buds. For whatever it's worth, after over 50 years of drumming, my hearing is pretty bad.

Seems like an obvious hoax attempt by boutique cable makers to try and prove their cables do make a difference, you just have to be able to hear "Laurel" first...

Weird... I can hear both. Yanny is a high pitched computer sounding voice, Laurel is a deeper, slowed-down type sound. Both are very clear to me when I listen for them. For the record - I heard Yanny first.

So far it seems young hear yanny more.
old hear laurel more.
Women hear yanny more.
Men hear laurel more.

Some of it may depend on the source of the hearing.

On TV the local news station 'over the air' via antenna
I clearly hear laurel, and no way do I hear any yanny.
This through the tiny speakers in my TV.

Interesting. I heard it on NPR this evening in my car. Clearly Laurel. Undoubtedly so. Come home to read this, follow the links, and only hear Yanni. Have to try it on various other devices now to check.

Wow, this is very strange indeed.
Just played this through Mac Mini>NuPrime IDA-8>Axiom M3's, and clearly heard Yanny repeatedly.
Switched to the computer's built-in output, left everything else unchanged, and clearly heard Laurel repeatedly.
Returned to the NuPrime's output, and still hear only Laurel.
What in the heck is going on here?

The New York Times has a gizmo that lets you adjust FR so you can hear either. At least, I could.
