Title: Windows driver needed for Transient MkII
Post by: snoogly on 9 Mar 2023, 02:12 am
I own a Transient MKii that I am thinking about selling. However, Windows PC users may need a driver (which used to be available from the CIAUDIO web site). Of course that resource is no longer there, so I would appreciate it if someone with the driver could share it with me.

However, I am not at all familiar with the Windows world, and I am not ever sure a driver is even necessary. - Maybe someone could enlighten me about this?

In fact I contacted Dusty via a message here, and sent him two emails, but no response at all  :(

Ok, I think I found it. PM your email to me and I'll send it along. Great and versatile unit, I still have mine, GLWS!

Thanks :-) Message sent.

Do you know if the driver is still needed with more ‘modern’ Windows OS?

Or does anyone know if there came a point when the MKII just stopped playing ball with Windows?

I emailed a download link to you. Let me know if you need further help.
Sorry for the delay!

Many thanks!

Do you happen to know if the most modern Windows OS still need the driver, and if so, it still functions OK?

I haven't tried it with Win 11 but you can give it a try. The original driver was written for Win 8.

Sadly I don’t have a Windows machine, so I won’t be able to test the driver - but I will provide the one you sent me to the buyer on a USB stick when I succeed in selling the Transient.

I loved all my CIAUDIO gear for many many years, but as I simplified my audio set-up each item of gear was steadily boxed up and stashed in a cupboard. I still have one CIAUDIO item in the chain though - the power supply for the Squeezebox Touch :-)

Before CIAUDIO I had quite a selection of Audio Alchemy devices in the chain, and I loved them as much for their looks as their sound.

Can anyone confirm that the driver works OK with Windows 10?
