Title: Bryston BP20 with phono or dedicated phono preamp to use with SP3

Looking to try a turntable for the first time since I was a child - my father recently gifted me a box of his old vinyl.

There's a Bryston BP20 available locally that includes a phono stage and the MPS-1 power supply. I like that it has balanced outputs to connect to my SP3. However, a dedicated phono preamp may also suffice.

Would a dedicated phono preamp offer something more than the BP20 and would I encounter any issues using the BP20 with my SP3?
