My trusty old Bryston BDP Pi will not boot, is there a link to the boot software available?

I bought my BDP-pi in Jan 2018.  It's hard to believe it's almost seven years old!

As supplied, the BDP-pi is incapable of processing DSD files.  Please confirm: the BDP-pi has no DSD capability, and nothing -- like, say, a firmware update -- will change this.  Correct?

according to this (https://bryston.com/discontinued/bdppi/), the bdp-pi can handle up to dsd128.  this would be via usb output.  since it is discontinued, i wouldn't expect any firmware updates.

Thank you.  That's helpful.  The original instruction manual says nothing about DSD capability.  Of course there won't be any firmware updates now, but I might've missed one when it was a current product.

The background of my question is that I want to try DSD.  I bought a Topping E30 II DAC ($150) specifically to play with DSD.  Yes, I know, that's not a Bryston product.  But maybe there's something here relevant to the BDP-pi.

I bought a "starter pack" from NativeDSD.  I bought the 128 DSD files, which should be within the capabilities of the BDP-pi and the Topping DAC.  There's a voice intro and some music samples.  I can hear the voice and music, but there's also steady white-noise hiss.  Is there anything that I should change with the BDP-pi to get this working?  The Topping allegedly has a "DSD mode," but there's nothing in the instruction sheet that tells me how to enable it, or if I have to do anything at all.

UPDATE: I defeated the hiss simply by powering off (unplugging) and replugging the Topping DAC.  I have a couple of other issues, but they're unrelated to Bryston.

In fact, I do have a (possibly) Bryston-related question.  When I play DSD, the Manic Moose app correctly displays that the BDP-pi is receiving DSD.  It says 705600:DSD:2.  But the Topping DAC displays PCM at 705.6.

Does the Bryston BDP-pi convert DSD to PCM?  Is there a setting to defeat this?

I've been discussing this with Adam Tanner at Bryston.

The BDP-pi is not intended to support DSD.  The old BDP-pi advertising page on the Bryston website is in error.  What I'm experiencing is that the BDP-pi converts DSD128 to 705.6 PCM.  But Bryston doesn't support this.

I have my answer.
