Title: One channel sucks compared to ... well, most everything
Post by: LesterSleepsIn on 1 May 2017, 08:36 pm
Last night I lost the right channel to my McIntosh MC2125 so off to the shop it will go.
I can assure everyone that one channel stereo sucks! Everything sounds like it comes from the left channel! Voices come from the left, drum snaps come from the left, horns from the left, Riders on the Storm thunder and rain drops come from the left, everything comes from the left! Just goes to show that you can spend thousands on an audio system and still have it sound sucky. One channel stereo sucks!

(This is a true story.)

IMO mono is a million times better than stereo for tv/movies.

I can tell you with certainty that zero channels sucks far more than one channel.

I've put up with zero channels for a week now and I'm going nuts. [Yes. Even more nuts than usual. ]

Get yourself a turntable, a Denon 201 mono cartridge, turn off the TV, and listen to mono jazz lp's.  I assure you it will be a step up!   :thumb:

Am I gunna have to ban some people?  :icon_twisted:

EDIT: Sixteen. I have 16 drivers. I forgot about the multiple coaxial drivers.

Individual drivers don't count Bob; some have more than that in one speaker.
