“I think Neil is barking up the wrong tree,” says Lukasz Fikus, a digital-audio designer whose high-priced Lampizator components have earned a following among hard-core enthusiasts.
The benefits of hi-res files may be detectable on high-dollar stereo systems, but “the difference is so miniscule that it’s not even worth talking about,” according to Fikus.

Difference so miniscule? Compared to CD?

It appears as though Fikus' statements were taken out of context.

Are you sure?  The OP (biggest Lampi fan) seemed pretty excited to post about it.

My impression and interpretation isn't so much a slam that high res doesn't matter, but more of a call to attention that its but a single variable and that all things remaining equal, hi res alone may not be the sensational upgrade many hope for.

Agreed.  It is about the sound as a piece of the puzzle.

A poorly recorded hi rez file, is no better than a poorly recorded cd, or a fake hi rez file of which I think there's thousands of now

I made no comment on the content…just put it out there. What I dont understand is why the biggest Lampi "hater" is always interested in Lampi threads. LoL

Jason,

Have you even ever heard a Lampi dac? Or is it that the specs. "the most important aspect of audio " aren't up to your standards and the Lampi can't possibly sound good?

What is ironic is that he was impressed with the squared up digital signal Miska posted of his DSC1 Dac output (with the attendant sound quality improvement) and Lukasz did the same with his digi-lampizator tube stage transport output years ago. See the Grundig scope readouts.
