for this I didnt use the sub, just the STs.
I listened to some music this way and it seemed a bit better, but still not where it probably should be.
I guess room treatment would help that? just not sure where to start...

Room treatments aren't going to help that far down low in my opinion; They'd need to be several feet thick. Try crossing to the subwoofer and running your speakers "small," then re-measure. The best placement in your room for great imaging and sound stage capabilities is usually not the best placement for bass, which is why using a subwoofer is helpful; you can place the sub where the in-room bass response is the best. If you want to continue listening in 2.0 full range configuration, try moving your speakers a bit (6 inches can make all the difference in the world). Again, the goal is an even response.
