Thinking of getting one of their tube pre-amps. I read some mixed reviews on another forum. Apparently the newer models have the tubes soldered to the PCB so that tube rolling is not possible. Also, one person on this forum posted that the Vincent product they bought was the worst product they had owned. On the other hand, there are many positive reviews.

Thanks. I kind of got that impression.

Any reason in particular to have a hybrid preamp? There are tube preamps with low output impedance if that's something you need (always a good idea though) to drive long cables or 2 amplifiers, etc.

I don't think I stated it clearly. Looking for a tube preamp. Currently in talks with a forum member to buy his Don Sachs preamp.

Who in his right mind would be willing to sell his D Sachs Model 2 preamp? :shake: Oh, wait. Good news! The carpet is dry now. :D
