HD = Hybrid Digital. It's not high definition. It's a dud as far as I am concerned. Never found much content of interest. I think any chance it had was killed by the Internet. Millions of radio stations at your fingertip instead of 10 more in your area.

Details on stations and compatible gear can be found at http://www.hdradio.com.

Details on the technology can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HD_Radio.

Sounds better than FM to me, but not quite "cd quality" as they like to claim (mostly because of compression applied by radio stations, among other reasons).  Locally (DC) I used to like it because the blue grass station was one of the alternate digital only stations from a local station (i.e. some channels have 2 or 3 stations additional stations that are digital only).  But now that station has it's own analog stand alone channel.

SO............Id get it if your receiver / car radio / whatever has it built in, but don't know I'd go out of my way to get a stand alone HD tuner.  There you really are better off w/ some device that can stream internet radio & the world is your oyster.............
