Transporting a pair of Super V
« on: 10 Jul 2019, 11:33 pm »
Hi everyone! New to the forum but been following the GR Research community for a while. Proud to say I am picking up some Super Vs tomorrow about an hour away! I am having a hard time deciding how to transport them and thought I might ask you all for your opinions. Basically I can either lay them down well protected in the back of my SUV (worried about the bases/feet) or rent a truck/van and tie them well standing upright (worried about them tipping over).. Do you think there would be anything wrong with laying them down? Back or side? I understand they're really heavy.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I'd unscrew the bases, then lay them on their backs.

I'm told the bases don't detach

S Clark has a good method.  That is how we loaded mine when I sold them.

Just make sure nothing can touch the rear tweeter dome of the coaxial drivers.

I transported them in the back of an SUV wrapped up in moving blankets laying on their sides. No problems whatsoever.

PM Danny Ritchie. I know he has transported Super-Vs before in his large SUV

Ended up transporting them super padded on their sides with no problem  :thumb:

Thanks Peter (pwag), they're already sounding amazing!
