9SE tolerances
« on: 8 May 2007, 05:46 am »
Just noticed that one of my amps is warmer in idling ( ie switched on but no signal for a long time ) than the other; it's the one which needs a much higher signal to lock  on and which has a brighter LED , is this all due to sonically unimportant part tolerances ?

Yes, in our V1 amp, the implementation was not as tight so even though sonically it is exceptional, there are little imperfections such as slight variation in idling noise/power consumption, turn on/off pss (very slight).
I am sure it won't affect your listening enjoyment but for a few people, just thinking about it gets under their skin  :)

It's fine ! :)
Hopefully upgrading to V2 soon, anyway !

PS Will Taurus show the V2s in Munich next week ?

We are looking for a distributor in Germany.  Germans are very conservative and there are very few dealers in the country.  We are in just about every EU countries except Germany.

Well when I still lived in Germany in the Sixties we already had American imports ( McIntosh, Marantz etc ) sold to the "ordinary public"when most people in the UK ( where I live now ) hadn't even heard of the concept of HiFi apart from a few enthusiasts using Quad 57s etc

But I agree, now it's almost the other way round...
