Since you've started this thread in the speaker review sub-circle I'm looking forward to your impressions.   :thumb:

Hope you enjoy your Sierra 2's as much as I enjoy mine. Love the RAAL tweeter.

Thought I'd let everyone know that the OP has informed me that he backed out of buying the Sierra 2's (and went with a speaker that is nearly twice the money), so not sure he'd reply to this thread.  Too bad, as I'm still a very happy owner of the original CBM-170s and was looking forward to his impressions.

GerryD, have you had a chance to compare Sierra 2 against similarly priced competition?

Interesting choice. I did not know they made a stand mount 3 way. I would like to hear them. Can you say what they go for up here in Canada and where you bought them, Audio Ark?

JLM....No, I did not compare the Sierra 2's to other similarly priced monitors. I was looking for a change from my Meadowlark Swift's(which I still use in a secondary system) and came across the Sierra 2's. I decided to give them a try, and I'm glad I did.

Since we are on the topic of monitors. I just bought a pair of System Audio Pandion 2s. Huh, what's that?

That's right, an unknown speaker in North America. Might be a hard sell down the road if I ever let them go. But I have learned from Wind Chasers mistake of selling his, I mean giving away his, Kef 101s way back when. He should have kept them for life as I should with these.

These are pricey but thought to try them anyway. Look very promising and that small woofer has a massive xmax allowing a +- 1.5 db response down to 40 hz.

There are a few of us that know about them.
I liked all of the ones I have heard.
There was a dealer about 80 miles from me in central Illinois.

Other than great drivers and a very open design process, what makes the Pandion 2's so good?

No, 6 grand Canadian retail but more like 3 beans for me with it being a demo unit.

Mini monitors are some of the best imaging speakers you can buy. They use a special long throw woofer to get +- 1.5 db down to 40 hz. So bigger sound than one would expect, at least I hope so as I have not heard them yet. Put those puppies with a pair of Rhythmik dual 8" subs that are here and you will have big sound. But for now they will mostly reside as computer speakers.

I just fell hard for what Scanspeak brings to the table in terms of a clarity, tone, body, combination; as I have the revelator woofers and illuminator tweeters in my truck and love the sound.

And it all started with this thread. Thanks 2 BigEars for spending my money.

:D. This thread was to see if small speakers could stand on their own. No subs. Keep it simple .
Keep its parts few.  The Bryson Mini T 's don't need a sub.
