CIA DACs version 1 vs. 2 and others.

I am in the market for a used Dac and wanted to get impression of the version 1 vs. version 2 of the C.I.A. audio dac.

I am on a very tight budget and am looking at a model 1 with the CIA VAC 1 power supply.  I might be able to swing the DAC two without the power supply.

Other options are older Cal audio, A Nixon, the Monica, and two of the Lite Audio Dacs.

Any opinions and reviews of the CIA dac would be helpfull.  Has anyone compared them to these others?

If you have a very highly resolving system I'd go for the VDA 2. I haven't heard it but had discussed it's design with Dusty. I"m amazed it isn't getting rave reviews online among users but it's only been out less than 6 months.

If your system is moderate then the VDA 1 would be a good choice.  Getting the VDA 2 without the power supply though for a little more money would be my best advice.
