Oh, I'm not denying that a lot of the harshness probably comes from the room acoustics - though they are no longer in the bright room from the previous link. That's why I tried to keep them and my listening position well away from walls and other surfaces (LP about 8 ft. away.) At reasonable levels, I can still often detect some of the (probably digital) harshness.


I think a lot of it - if not most of it? - is the fact that I'm running my music through a laptop into a [/size]MUSE USB DAC Sound Card/Optical Coaxial Decoder/USB to S/PDIF Converter [/font]  before it goes into my AVA DAC. Until I get this replaced, I don't think I'll be positive.


I'm pretty sure the graphs that Dennis put up on his website are from my speaker(s). I do know that the photo is from my pair that he sent me.

I think if you could identify which frequencies your are more sensitive to, it will probably be easier for you to address the issue.
