[Sold] Meitner MA-1 DAC
« on: 2 Oct 2016, 02:59 pm »
I am putting my Meitner MA-1 Digital-to-Analog converter up for sale for $3,200 plus shipping.

The DAC is in mint condition.  I am the second owner and the original owner was a nearby friend.  DAC will be shipped with all original boxes (double boxed).

One of the most natural and detailed DACs I've ever heard in my system, with numerous awards to its credit, including a CASH award from Computer Audiophile!

The only reason I'm selling is because of space.  I am in the process of downsizing and have had to move an integrated amp setup.

Please email or message with any questions!

How long has the MA-1 been made, does yours support DSD? It seem I read somewhere Meitner has software upgrades available, can you enlighten me on that. In the world of high end dac I wonder how the MA-1 compares with the Schiit Yggdrasil probably not a fair comparison considering the cost difference between 7000.00 and 2300.00 possibly making your Meitner a real bargain,

My MA-1 was built in 2012.  It does support DSD (including support for 2x DSD). I use it all the time for DSD and it works quite well.

There was a firmware upgrade available in 2015.  I have the firmware, but have not ever updated it.  The DAC sounds so great with the earlier firmware that I didn't feel the need to change it.  However, I will definitely include the firmware update with the DAC.
