Corvina vs Cassabria
« on: 25 May 2013, 10:51 am »

I recently got a RWA Corvina with the balanced output. The sound quality is amazing in combination with the Senheiser HD800, making me curious about Cassabria. Could anyone have compared those two amplifiers at the same time? I wonder how much the sonic quality of Cassabria outperforms Corvina especially for HD800.

Any comparative experience will clarify my curiosity.

Hi canumbra,

Welcome to the RWA forum!

Assuming you are using the balanced output (for apples to apples comparison to the Corvina), the Cassabria has an updated tube stage that has better top-end extension, and you can also roll-in tubes from the 12AX7 family.

I recommend you post on headfi.com, as we've done quite a few full-upgrades and most of the Corvina/Cassabria owners post there - but not all our customers post on these forums (shame!  :nono:   :green:).

Best regards,

Vinnie
