Here's a couple pics of my room. It's still a work in progress. I have to put doors and trim on and then some room treatments.

Updated my artwork:

Not a huge difference, and at the end of the day i'll have the centre behind the screen.

My system has changed a great deal since last here, it's been awhile.. 50 inch plasma still looks too small but other than that very happy! :D

New addition to my HT/MC stereo, Sony KDL-46Z4100.

Room has gotten more cluttered since last photo, so that's the reason for the lousy photo.

New Year's resolution is to try and get organized before next New Year.

I'm experimenting with an OB center with a Mac tweeter and some sonance in-wall speakers.  So far, it doesn't blend well with the infinity's and it's a little too echoey, but it's better than using a phantom center.

Subs firing at the front wall from beside the viewing area.  I have a sub box holding up both surround speakers.

I finally snapped a few decent pictures of the room I built:

Only things left to do are build some more acoustic panels and build a door for the equipment rack.

Lots more pictures of the room build here:

Here's my remodeled music room:

wider shot showing audio rack on right wall and front row seating

This is the rear of the room, showing the new riser installed for second rown seating, the latest Realtraps (Corner Mondos, Difffusors, and ceiling-based miniTraps) and the new GIK Art Panels.  The speakers in the corner are SP Tech Continuums and dedicated to 5.1 music surround programs only.  The 4 movie surrounds are wall-mounted (2 shown on sloped back ceiling).

:thumb: Excellent Ted. Super cool, well done. Very professionally executed.
I have not doubt your room(s) will inspire many folks to spend a LOT of money.

Color me envious.

Bump for a great thread!  aa

Time for newbees to show us yours.....'cause we'll show you ours.  :icon_twisted:
Also time for the veterans to update those old, outdated pictures with some new ones.

I've updated the "requirements" in my first post....Now asking for descriptions of what we're seeing, equipment lists, bla..bla..bla... In addition, notes about anything that you find interesting that may go unnoticed at first glance.

In the equipment rack, from top down is:
- Clock
- DishNetwork DVR
- Two zone temperature LCD display (top and bottom of rack)
- Harman Kardon AVR645
- Behringer DCX 2496 (soon to be modded ???)
- (same shelf) Gaming consoles - Wii, XBox360, PS3 (BluRay player)
- Legion LSA-900 (800 watt bridged amp to power the four 15" Augies in I.B.)
- Jolida JD-202a (40wpc tube amp for front mains)
- Adcom 535 (60wpc amp for stereo Augies)
- Liebert GTX2U 2000 VA U.P.S. (modded with two silent fans)

Spread around the room:
- SqueezeBox Classic mounted in center channel speaker (Bolder modded, heavily)
- DIY acoustic room treatment panels (nine total) Owens Corning "703"
- DIY speaker baffles with (5) 15" Hawthorne Audio drivers.
- (4) Hawthorne Audio Augies in Infinite Baffle (hidden under screen, behind black cloth)
- Sanyo PLV-Z2 Video projector hanging from ceiling. (slowly trying to die on me.....)
- DIY 140" 16:9 projection screen (thanks to Pink Floyd for providing the eye candy)
- PC desk behind main seating position. I like to call it "second row, center stage".
- 10" HawthorneAudio coax in DIY rear surround channel baffles
- "White Lightning Moonshine" cables throughout.
- Me hiding in the corner.

...............It's your turn now.
Super-extra brownie points if you "hide" in the picture.

What's Behind the screen:

George,

What kind of subs are those?  Are they Dipole/Bipole?  I like that the wood on the sides of screen disappears during the movie.

Posting once again.  Seems I deleted the old post somehow.

Note Mark Schifter in the back row seated.  Sam, who does Jim's crossovers front right.  And in the front left is Art Sonneborn, owner of a $150,000 home theater in Michigan.  Great guy, fantastic HT.

Dennis and TomS in the front row:

Can you spot Mike Garner from TweekGeek in the photo?

That was a great time Pete.  Brings back memories of sitting right next to that AV123 prototype BMF sub that never came to be...

Our theatre design by us. We built our screen, all acoustic wall panels (DIY), and the black velvet curtains.
Many hours of effort by myself (I am the builder) and my subcontractors went into this project. The screen size is 155" diagonal. The projector is a Panny PTAX 100U. It was fairly easy as we were building a new home at the time.

All HT audio is handled by an NAD Pre/Pro and B&K separates for the amp duties.
2 channel stereo is by a Dynaco Pas 3 Series II and a Sound Valves Mosfet 32 power amp.
Denon turntable, Shure Cartridge, Parasound Phono Pre-amp.
Panny DMP BD60 Blu-ray player.
Samsung HD841 SACD/DVD Audio Player.
Speakers are VMPS....RM2's (L&R, not pictured), Mini Tower IIA's (L&R in photo, will be moved to centers).
Subs - Madisound 12" Kits (2).
L&R Sides - Dynaco A25 Series II.
L&R Rears - H.H. Scott
Panny PTAX 100U LCD Projector (displays 1080P), native 720P.

Standard Definition DVD - Toy Story

Planet Earth Blu-Ray

This is our homecinema. This room is an adition to the house. This makes it harder for the sound to bounce in to the main part of the house. The walls and the sealing are not in direct conntact with the inner wall or sealing. This way I can controll where the sound goes.
The front wall is tripple design with insolation between each layer. The wall is also angled twoards the room corners from the 106" screen, this is done to allow a closer placement of the front speakers.
There is a light absorbent and high to mid frq absorbent on the front wall.
The screen is built in the wall to make a cleaner look, and the spreadlight from PJ does not create shadows.
The flooring floats on 2" thick styrofoam with wall to wall carpeting on top, this smoothen out the midrange amplification witch occoures on wooden flooring.
Behind sweetspot is a 2 foot thick sound absorbent that dampen a wide frq of reflections. This I use to fine tune the sound from the speakers twoards sweetspot.
Side walls with DVD cabinets and high frq absorbents on the front sides. This takes care of the front and rear first reflections. Enhanced 3D effects and put the sound more in the room vs from the speakers.
Sealing low frq dampened with cavity tuned plaster sealing. Eliminates bouncing soundwaves within the room.
Electric wiering is shielded from signal wiering, and a dedicated 16A powerfeed to the equipment. All wiering is hidden in the walls, and pulled thru inwall tubes, this makes wier replacement possible.

Equipment:
- Halcro SSP 200 Surr.proc.
- Classe CDP 102 CD-player
- Denon 2010 Blu ray player
- MBL 9007 Amp (MONO) Front amp.
- Acoustic reality eAR two. Center amp.
- Vincent SP 996. Rear amps.
- X-box 360 elite. Gaming.
- Von Schweikert VR4SR MKII Anniversary
- Von Schweikert TS-150 Rear speakers.
- SVS PC12 pluss. Two tube subwoofers.
- Usher X-616 Center chanel.
- Benq W9000 HD PJ.

Hope you like.  :D
