My favorite Indycar racer gets killed
in a 2 week period.
Its been said that motor racing fans have trouble getting excited about stick 'n ball sports.
"Will I catch this ball" and "Will the ball I throw go through that hoop" are simply on another plane from "Will I ever see my wife and children again" But these are the stakes that so many racers face every time they strap on a helmet.
Sadly, sometimes the answer to the last question is "no".
Very sad day but one that was inevitable given the insanity of such close racing at those speeds.
I still fear for the day when one goes (again) into a crowded grandstand...
