I want to get a new Receiver/Universal Player combo that can be connected by a high rez cable. If one uses the i-link, does he need to use any other connection cables? I know HDMI carries both audio and video signals but I'm not sure about i-link.

I know modwright does mods to the DV-47ai... if one plans to use the i-link, what cost effective mods would be recommended?

Have you modded the VSX-55TXi? Have any of you heard it stock? How does it sound?

If any of you think another universal player/receiver combo that is modded by modwright is better, please say so and why.

We have not modified any receivers to date and I don't see us doing it in the near future anyway.  My plate is too full with the player mods, our preamp/linestage that we are in the final stages of Beta testing and future plans for a phono stage.
