I've been looking on Youtube at the homemade tripath based boomboxes
people are making and know that for sure a One.2 or Two.2 with the Audience A3S drivers would make a great boombox ! I enjoy a fully decked out M451 with vintage 3'' full range drivers and am tempted to mod but will probably wait till I can get another amp from Seth and order some A3S drivers from Parts express. It would be cool to design it so it could be modular to allow you to use it as a sort of hybrid desktop/portable system that ran on batteries as well . One thing for sure would be that it would kill as an Mp3 type of playback system !

It's a great idea and if I had the engineering, I'd be doing it!

In fact, I have drawings of a Tripath boom box from 2005 that is absolutely stunning. One day I'll share it online.
