BR system

Thumbnail for In the bullpen: Antique Sound Labs AQ1001-DT integrated..... KT88 based, 50 wpc ultralinear / 30 wpc triode
Thumbnail for Polk Monitor Series 2 M 4......dug these out of storage. Warmth, detail, musicality and presence way in excess of expectations. Provided they are not cranked to distortion, they sound full and musical, and shockingly better than they have any right to!
Thumbnail for DeVore Fidelity Gibbon 3....darn good little speaker! Open, expressive and "big" sounding for its size. Great synergy with Blue Circle BC-24 hybrid amp (replaced ASL KT88 integrated) produces an immediate and warm sound that is lovely, textured, delicate, neuanced and harmonically complete.....perfect balance for bedroom. I love this system!
Thumbnail for Robust output (40 wpc, seems like more) with the ability to drive 3 pair of speakers. The tuner section pulls like a champ! May not do space like modern gear, and just slightly dark and veiled in overall character, but I was shocked at the rich, full, punchy, propulsive and musical sound. Smooth and fatigue free...can listen for hours on end. Great PRAT...just like I remember from my college days. ;-)
Thumbnail for Straight from storage, the venerable Sansui 771! My very first amp, purchased in 1975. A bit of De-oxit and it is still running clean and strong. Great example of mid-70s hifi when they really built stuff and provided great features: tape dubbing, mono switch, phono section, hi/lo filters, and a loudness contour switch and equalizer that really works. Original MSRP: $450.
