Euterpe preamp update

Hey guys! Even though I have been silent I have been working on the low cost tube pre.

Version 2.0 is hanging in my garage after being cut and sprayed and construction will begin this weekend.

I have finalized some really cool things that I wanted to share.

The standard version will be available for $250 in kit form.

The kit will arrive drilled and ready to be assembled and includes all parts.

Parts include:

CLCRC powersupply utilizing IEC/Fuse combo housing, SPST switch, Hammond 269ax transformer, UF4007 diodes, Vishay film snubber caps, Nichicon caps, Triad choke, and ohmite chip resistor.

Chassis is Hammond aluminum 6x10x2 chassis, powder coated gloss black

1% metal film resistors from Koa Speer, Dale, and Xicon.

Plate caps from Nichicon.

NOS ceramic 7 pin sockets with shields and NOS valves from USSR (from 1962).

Panasonic film caps for input/output

5 sets gold chassis mount RCA of the Chinese variety

ALPS 100k blue velvet pot (gauranteed not counterfeit)

TCJ 3 way selector switch (Alpha switch, custom PCB)

Tag strips from radioshack

Hookup wire from the shack

Beldin sheilded in/out wire

Assorted mounting hardware and grommets

Options to include:

$4 Add "little demon" carbon resistors to input, this deletes the stock metal film and might be better for compressed music sources
$50 Add carbon fiber veneer chassis
$40 Add Vitamin Q capacitors to input output
$10 Add cherry or purpleheart sides
$20 Add birds eye maple sides
$30 Add rosewood sides
$?? Add custom color powder coat
$2 Add additional pair of 6j6 at time of order
$5 Add additional pair of 6j6 at any time
$20 and subject to availability, add Mullard 6j6
$?? Just ask, if it is a part that is available it can be sourced and added, I only charge price + shipping unless modifications have to be made (Like the Vitamin Qs require sticky tape to hold them because they are so heavy and a slight redesign to fit them).

Looks really nice Bill. I have no need for one of these, but have a feeling I'll end up trying one, since I've been wanting to attempt a kit for a long time.

I now have a Foreplay 1 in the house for comparison and things are favorable so far.

I want to get some friends over that have not heard either to see what they think before drawing any conclusions though as I am obviously biased.
