The telling point, in answer to a question about dynamic range compression of hi-res releases, and the possibility of less compressed special hi-res releases, Kallman, the CEO of Atlantic "was open to the idea, so we'll see if wider quiet-to-loud dynamic range is incorporated in Warner's high-resolution formats."

Scary that this wasn't already one of Warner's considerations.

As I stated over on the Asylum, I hope WB does hirez like they did DVD-Audio with the Grateful Dead (great dynamics, true hirez, new mixes) rather than how they did it with R.E.M. (upconverted redbook with obvious brickwall at 22k).
