Plans for cabinets for 10" fullrange drivers?
« on: 18 Aug 2010, 10:23 pm »
If you have built or plan to build speakers with a single, crossoverless 10-inch driver, can you please post a link to your chosen design or give a brief description? There seem to be many tried and tested options for 8-inch drivers (back loaded horns, transmission line, bass reflex, etc.) but I could not find almost any for 10-inch drivers. This may be of interest to anyone considering to build a pair of 10" fullrange speakers. Thank you.

hebrer,

I only know of one plan that is available for 10".  It was designed by a guy on DIYAudio whose screen name is Harderror ( I think ).

The thread is here:www.diyaudio.com/forums/full-range/118236-s-p-q-r-ez10-cast-10-a.html

The plan is here:www.box.net/shared/fbnx0ij28k

Hope that is helpful.  I've heard the 12" AN's in an MLTL, with the fostex bullet horn on top and was quite pleased.  very nice sound, just had a small sweet spot though, but the room conditions were less than ideal ( hotel room ).

Hi John,

this is very helpful. Thank you.

The diyaudio member "harderror" (I believe his name is Thomas Petzwinkler) set up a separate website with two sets of plans for 10" drivers: http://spqracoustics.wordpress.com/
