Hi Fluke,

Do you mind showing some more photos please?

Are the speakers hand rubbed finished?  Did it cost much more for this particular finish?  They look pretty spectacular.

Due to my limited budget I could only afford my HT2's finished in bosse pommele.  I'm not sure how they will look because I could only find a speaker partially finished in this veneer.

My speakers should arrive in about a months time because they are being shipped by sea.  I hope they sound as good as they look.

Regards

Rod

Hi Rocket - thanks!  They were finished with a gloss 85 lacquer.  The finish was part of the total and I don't believe it was hand rubbed much?  But they do look great up close and I don't know much about that part of the process.

Send me a PM with your email addy and I will send you my unboxing photos.  I am planning on taking more
HQ photos tomorrow too.  I can't resist.  :D

Is this the wood you selected?  Those will be sharp!

The bosse pommele is a great choice.  I have a pair of MBOW1s with it and they look awesome--better than the photo on Jim's website http://www.salksound.com/mbow1.shtml.  Have fun!

I'm maybe two weeks out from getting my 2 songtowers and a black songcenter.  Since we are posting veneers, mine should look something like this veneer, " PAU FERRO 715 Pau Ferro. Dashing and colorful "Bolivian Rosewood". Swirling colors ranging from reddish-tan to deep indigo."
Sigh, waiting hurts.  Great looking design there fluke!

I just got my ST's in and wanted to share them with everyone. Here is a link to pictures, http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=63147

I have since reversed the order that they are in (as in the tweeters are on the inside now) and I have installed the plinths. I absolutely love them! PS, the finish is a dyed walnut.

I posted a couple pictures on AVS in the Official Salk Forum.  But hopefully I can show a couple photos here too:

HT2
Pearl black with Australian lacewood stringers

I've got a pair of black HT3's, but boy do those lacewood stringers look so good.  The exotic veneers don't do it for me (hence the christening from Jim of Philistine) but your speakers look so stylish - the best I've seen so far  8)

Hi Philistine,

Thank you!!  I am staring at them now as I type poorly....

It was funny, my wife got on me for not dusting them.  So I missed 1 day - sheesh...  :)

Any pics of your black ht3's?  Did you go with pearl black?   I am still very pleased with the ht2's.  Another interesting note, my cat has never reacted to my music like she does now.  Jumping off my lap, perking up ears, or looking into empty corners... funny

Thanks again and happy listening!

Yes mine are black pearl, but in my basement they just look satin black.
I did add black granite plinths (using the original MDF HT3 plinths as a base), I must post these one day!

Hi Guys,

Thanks Chris for loading the photo's for me.  They actually look better in person and are a very classy looking speaker.

Check out the amps that I have to chose from for my system.  I actually have another amplifier that is being modified at the moment.  Its a true addiction.

Hey Rod,

Those look GREAT!!!

Can't wait to hear your impressions.  I still can't believe how much volume/juice it takes to make these drivers move - and when they move - wow...

Lovely speakers, Rod! :thumb:

Hi John,

I'd be honest and say that I prefer the look of your speakers than mine.  They really look spectacular.
