Agreed!  I'll throw in a few:

Mahler - Complete Symphonies conducted by Bertini
Brahms - Piano Concertos - Played by Freire and conducted by Chailly
Beethoven - Complete Symphonies - conducted by Mackerras
Mozart - Late Symphonies - conducted by Mackerras
Mozart - Piano Concertos (various) - played by Brendel, conducted by Mackerras
Vivaldi - anything from the last 10 years on the Naive label
Haydn - any of the Harnoncourt recordings
Haydn - Piano Sonatas performed by Hamelin
Any of Hilary Hahn's violin recordings
