Burn in phono stage
« on: 24 Jul 2004, 10:45 pm »
Hi everyone,

I'm playing vinyl, it's the first time since I have the tempest.
When burning in the phono stage, can I set the volume of the preamp to zero ?
How much time requires the phono stage to be burned in (the rest of the tempest is already burned in).

Honestly I didn't find much burn-in time required at all.  Everything opened up very quickly using my Denon MC carts.  Now the Stratos Monos took some time to fully bloom but the Tempest....... not much at all.

As far as the volume.... I used normal playback levels period.

My put is to spend a weekend spinning vinyl and you'll be there :)

My take on this is the usual 2 - 3 months.  However,  the Tempest proceeds much more gradual compared to the Strto,  which changes brutally during its first 6 weeks or so.
