From 1960, Doug Watkins with Yusef Lateef and others. Terrific soul-jazz, with excellent bass playing.

And another gem from Doug Watkins, this one from 1956 with Hank Mobley, Donald Byrd, Kenny Burrell, Duke Jordan, and Art Taylor.

Nice pick AD!  :thumb:
I had this and other WRs on vinyl, of which I've only replaced Black Market and Heavy Weather on CD thus far.
But I see a box set on sale with this one included here: The Complete Columbia Albums 1971-1975 [Box set].
Think I'll order that right now.
Thanks for the idea!

Verve Master Edition (20-bit, 1997, 16 tracks, of which at least three are totally unecessary and I could live without)

Welcome r-a-d.  8)  I only kept Sweetnighter & Mysterious Traveller on vinyl from back in the day. Picked those up on CD as well as the earlier works, Heavy Weather & that one. Need to fill in some gaps myself, just a matter of budget. I'll check out the box set, see what all it has, Thanks for the tip  :thumb:  There are a couple of excellent DVDs of theirs too, well worth having. Live @ Montreax is kick ass with Jaco on bass, picked that up courtesy of martyo. Also have Germany '77, but have been waiting to view it. It was highly recommended as well.

Picked this up at the local record store today for five bucks.  Looks a bit banged up but plays NM-
Jam session from 1959.

Nice S Clark! Your pick convinced me to grab these two this morning, both from Paris, first 1958 and next 1959 (maybe same as yours with Lee Morgan, Bud Powell, Wayne Shorter, 12-18-1959?).
