That’s a Camp Chef pizza oven I bought from Woot a few years ago.  I wish I was able to share photos of great home made pizza’s but I can’t, no problem to make great tasting dough and I’ve learnt how to make mozzarella.  The issue is I haven’t mastered getting a uniformed thickness circular crust - consequently pizzas are bought in until I master basic skills.  Nothing wrong with the oven, it gives great results, I’m the weak link in the chain!

I need to find a pizza making course, or have someone come over and teach me...I had big dreams of having pizza parties :duh:

Build quality seems good but there's that X factor of longevity.  I can't say yet.  I've only used it a little over a week so far.  At first blush there's not a lot to go wrong with it. The ignition system will likely be the first thing to crap out but if it does just light it with a lighter or long match.  As has been mentioned, for $120 if doesn't last as long as the Otto grill then at least it was 1/10 the price.

Looking at The Beefer accessory dimensions it appears they’re identical to Caveman and should fit, one of these is a burger tray - but I struggle to see what benefits this would bring over the standard tray?

Also, looking at The Beefer Cookbook, the instructions for a burger are cooking on the third level down of the cooking section for a couple of mins and then searing on the top level.  No big surprise that Caveman has “similar” cooking levels...

I bought my youngest son 12lbs of ground Wagu from Snake River Farms, so his project this week is ‘the perfect burger’!

So, my burger expert son used Caveman to make Wagu burgers.
He used the bottom rung in the cooking section (third one down) for 2 minutes per side, and seared them on the top rung - they came out almost perfect, we go medium rare and they came out a little underdone so they probably need another 30 seconds on each side before searing.  The downside was that he was cooking for 5 of us and a single Caveman doesn't have the capacity to serve 5 simultaneously, so we're looking at trying sous vide next time and searing on Caveman, using the drip tray as a keep warm option or maybe even buy another Caveman?

Unfortunately no pictures to share, I'll try and take food porn photos next time!  He used Snake River Farms Wagu on this occasion, but we have found Wagu in Costco so will try this next time to see how it compares.

The Bighorn might be a good solution.  It's pretty much the same thing but much larger.  I haven't tried one but the reviews are stellar.  You could get another Caveman but you'll need another gas bottle (which maybe you have?) but if you need to buy one then you're up to $175 or for the tank and another grill.  I am considering another Caveman just as a backup but also thinking of the Bighorn.

Using it to sear after souv vide should work well.  My feeling though is that the Caveman is maybe a one man or two person appliance, but you could make it work for a bigger group.
